What Are the Levels of Care?

Your loved one may need your help with just one or two of the Activities of Daily Living like bathing and dressing.

In that case, you are providing "Level One" care. The Adult Family Care program can pay caregivers $25 for each day that you help with just one or two activities.

If your loved one needs assistance with three or more Activities of Daily Living.

That is "Level Two," care and the program can pay caregivers $50 per day to be at home to provide that assistance. This equates to $750 per month for Level One or $9,000 a year. For Level Two, this equates to $1,500 per  month or $18,000 a year.

As a caregiver, you receive a bi-weekly check and do not have to pay taxes on this money - you receive the whole amount tax free.
